Ternopil National Technical Universiity
According to Resolution of Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine №1563 from December 30, 1996 Ternopil’ Ivan Pul’ui State Technical University (TSTU) was founded on the basis of Ternopil’ Instrumentation Institute, and on December 11, 2009 it was renamed into Ternopil’ Ivan Pul’ui National Technical University for considerable input into the development of national education and science and taking into account nationwide and international recognition of results received by TSTU.
Nowadays our university is the only higher technical educational establishment in Ternopil’ district which provides training of specialists of all qualification levels, Doctors and Ph.D. for Ternopil’, Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivs’k, Khmel’nyts’k and Rivne districts.
Ternopil’ Ivan Pul’ui National Technical University also includes: Technical lyceum, Technical college, Husiatyn college and Zboriv college. The total number of students, masters and post-graduate students in the university alone comprises around 5000 people.
9 departments are functioning within the university: Computer Technologies Department, Department of Computer Information Systems and Program Engineering, Electrical Engineering Department, Food and Processing Production Department, Mechanical Engineering Department, Economy and Entrepreneurship Department, Department of Management and Business in Production, Department of Testing Instruments and Radio Computer Systems, Foreign Students Department. The training is also conducted at the International studies centre and Pre-university studies centre. The re-training and skill upgrading is organized by the Post-graduate studies centre.
Professional training, purposeful programs of fundamental training, intensive computer education, modernization of studying economic branches, humanization and humanization of learning and educational processes, perfect foreign languages learning, upgrading of specialists’ legal education is performed by the teaching staff of the University. More than 200 lecturers work here: a Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, a member of the New-York Academy of Sciences, Academicians and Corresponding Members of the branch Academies of Sciences of Ukraine, Doctors of Science, Professors and Candidates of Science, Professor Assistants..
The university cooperates actively with foreign educational and scientific institutions in the branch of education and research. In particular it has ties with the USA, Canada, Germany, France,Sweden, Great Britain, Poland, China, India, Russia etc.
Physical infrastructure of the University and its structures comprises 11 education, science and research buildings with the general area of around 60 000 sq. meters, 6 dormitories, gyms, student canteens and accommodations for the art activities.
The university implements modern higher school development tendencies in its activities to the fullest extent; it satisfies the needs of the region and the district in the highly qualified specialists, acting as a scientific and cultural centre.
